Four Ways to Decorate Your Home for the 4th of July

29th Jun 2018

The day of parades, fireworks, and blue, white, and red ribbon is once again steadily approaching, and just like every year, you feel you are too busy to decorate for the family BBQ. Don't give in to that voice saying you cannot do it and instead, impress the extended family with these quick and simple patriotic decoration ideas.

Flowers with Flag Accent. Save time by simply sprucing up the flower pot on your porch with a few miniature American flags. Purchase a few of these flags from your local dollar store and simply insert them into your blossoms. This is a quick and inexpensive way to show your American spirit.

Lawn Stars. If you are hoping to make a bigger statement, you might consider lawn stars. Print out a star template online and and cut out the center so you have a star stencil. Grab your blue, white, and red spray paint and spray a star on your grass by using your stencil. The festive stars scattered across your property will send the message to your neighbors that you are ready to celebrate. Don't worry, within a week your painted grass will grow out and you will be left once again to enjoy your green lawn.

Mirrors as Food Platforms. Make your 4th of July meal even more impressive by using a framed mirror as a food coaster. Red, blue, and white framed rectangular, circular, and oval mirrors are available online at The Oval and Round Mirror Store. Even if you are just serving hotdogs and burgers, the use of a framed mirror will make it look as if you spent more time planning out your meal than you actually did.

Flowers with Patriotic Color Dye. By July, flowers can be found anywhere: in your garden, on the side of the road, or even at your local Walmart. Create a simple festive center piece by placing a handful of flowers within three separate mason jars. Then dye the water of one red, one blue, and leave the other one clear. This is a subtle, yet gorgeous way to show your American spirit.
